This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our services globally. We are committed to compliance with applicable data protection laws including GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), Indian IT Act 2000, and PDPA (Singapore).

Account Data: Name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, location. Profile Data: Photos, bio, interests, preferences. Verification Data: Selfie, government ID (if provided), Instagram/LinkedIn data (if linked). Usage Data: App activity, matches, messages, Spark Score, Response Timer data. Device Data: IP address, device type, browser, operating system. Location Data: Approximate location for matching (with consent). Payment Data: Processed by third-party payment providers — we do not store card details.
Consent: Profile creation, location data, marketing communications. Contract: Providing the matching service, processing payments. Legitimate Interest: Fraud prevention, safety, analytics, service improvement. Legal Obligation: Tax records, law enforcement requests, court orders.

We do NOT sell your personal data. We may share data with: Service providers (hosting, analytics, payment processors) under data processing agreements. Law enforcement when required by court order or legal obligation. Other users: only profile data you choose to make visible (controlled by your privacy settings). Emergency services: in cases of imminent danger (safety reports).
Your data may be processed in India, the United States, and the European Union. For transfers outside the EU/EEA, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. For transfers from India, we comply with IT Act 2000 and SPDI Rules 2011.
Active accounts: Data retained while account is active. Inactive accounts: Deleted after 24 months of inactivity. Deleted accounts: All personal data permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (tax records: 7 years). Messages: Deleted when both users delete the conversation or account. Audit logs: Retained for 12 months for security purposes.
Access: Request a copy of all your personal data (GDPR Art. 15, CCPA §1798.100). Rectification: Correct inaccurate data (GDPR Art. 16). Deletion: Request complete deletion of your data (GDPR Art. 17, "Right to be Forgotten"). Portability: Receive your data in machine-readable format (GDPR Art. 20). Restriction: Limit processing of your data (GDPR Art. 18). Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 21). Spark Dating is strictly for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover underage data, it is immediately deleted.

We will notify you of material changes via email and in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
